IMPROVING THE EFFICIENCY OF CORPORATE GOVERNANCE IN STATE-OWNED COMPANIES
Abstract
This research paper aims to uncover the best corporate governance practices
through the evolution of thissphere over 30 years of improved management approaches
in some of the largest Central Public Sector Entities (CPSEs). The paper traces the
development of public-sector or state-owned companies in India and then moves to
contemporary approaches to improving corporate governance in these companies. The
methodology used is secondary research of publications and resources from agencies
such as the World Bank, OECD, the Government of India, Ministry of Finance etc.
